Area Leader (Pulp and Woodyard Operations) KEY RESPONSIBILITES: - Providing leadership in the achievement of improved performance in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, customer satisfaction, organizational. effectiveness, cost management and asset utilization for your operational area consistent with our MBM guiding principles.
- Manage and direct the work process for the virgin pulping, caustic plant and woodyard production.
- Responsible for performance management, team member development, coaching, and accountability of the salaried and hourly department personnel.
- Ability to manage numerous multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
- Strategic as well as a tactical thinking and decision making.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills throughout all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results through others.
- Proactively innovative with a high sense of urgency, disciplined, accountable, proven good judgment and decision making, economic and critical thinking skills, and effective problem solving.
- Work with the business group to optimize assets.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Supervisory or leadership role with a minimum of 5 year experience in manufacturing or technical environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Thorough understanding and practical experience in pulping and woodyard operations, preferably in the paper manufacturing industry.
- Experience managing and developing a staff of more than 60 employees in a heavy industrial environment.
- A Bachelors of Science Degree in Pulp and Paper Science, Engineering, or related field.
