Responsibilities: Provide general maintenance support for the manufacturing operations at the Crossett Paper Mill. These include, but are not limited to: - Strive for 10,000% safety compliance by setting the example for safety 100% of the time.
- Perform routine equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities
- Operate equipment such as hoists, man-lifts, rigging equipment, cranes and forklifts.
- Install new and rebuilt equipment as required.
- Work in a team environment interacting with other maintenance employees, management personnel, production operators, engineers and contractors.
- Follow work plans and schedules, and read P&IDs /mechanical drawings.
- Understand the goals of the maintenance department and work toward their successful achievement.
- Create value through Principled Entrepreneurship, especially as it relates to improving reliability.
REQUIRED: - Must have at least one of the following
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of full time experience as a general mechanic (a combination of millwright, machinist and/or pipe-fitting skills) with welding skills in the pulp and paper industry or similar industrial environment.
-OR-
- Must have a technical degree or educational equivalent in general maintenance work and/or training with a minimum of three (3) years experience as a general mechanic with welding skills in the pulp and paper industry or similar industrial environment.
-OR-
- Must have successfully completed an approved general mechanic apprenticeship program or equivalent with at least two (2) years experience as a general mechanic in the pulp and paper industry or similar industrial environment.
AND: - A high school diploma or equivalent
- Eligible to work in the United States
- A resume with at least two personal references, a list of past employers and a description of your past job duties.
- Be able to pass a 3g welding test.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen.
- Willing to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
- Willing to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, and stopping).
- Willing to wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat, 6 top leather steel toe boots, etc.).
- Willing to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Willing to work in a tobacco free environment.
- Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment.
