Color-Box, a Georgia-Pacific company, manufactures high quality, point-of-sale packaging.  We currently have openings in the Pelahatchie, MS facility for an AERATOR OPERATOR. Starting rate of pay is $12.29 per hour. Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift, work with variable start times and be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as necessary.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 18 years of age
• Eligible to work in the United States
• At least six months of prior manufacturing experience or labor intensive work experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced, flow-to-work environment
• Willingness to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
• Willingness to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods of time (lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, twisting, stooping, etc.)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely and stand for extended periods of time
• Willingness to wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat, 6" top leather steel-toed boots, etc.)
• Willingness to consent to (and pass) a pre-employment test, background check and drug screen
• Ability to work in a tobacco-free environment
• Willingness to sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Previous mechanical experience such as setting up, running and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
• Previous experience working with fluted cartons (B, E and F)
• Previous experience operating a corrugator or laminator
• Previous forklift experience
• Basic computer skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to all plant environmental guidelines, policies and procedures
• Help operate machinery to expected performance levels
• Assist crew members and work in a team environment
• Help meet or exceed production waste and quality goals
• Assist with set-ups, troubleshooting and making minor machine adjustments
• Keep work area clean throughout shift
• Perform IQS checks throughout the shift
• Flow to work on other parts of the machine as necessary
• Maintain the baler room which includes basic housekeeping and loading trucks
• Able to learn and operate both the aerator and down stacker
