Responsibilities: This position will have operations responsibilities in the Las Vegas, NV Gypsum Facility. Roles and responsibilities will include: direct supervision and training hourly production employees; safety performance, production, quality, cost control and compliance with all company policies, as well as local, state and federal laws/regulations. The position is a frontline supervisor role and will work closely with the consolidated organizations Safety, Environmental, Maintenance, Operations, Controller and Quality Leaders to strive for operations excellence. Key Job Expectations: o Direct leadership and supervision of hourly production operators and technicians. o Assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving issues. o Improve safety performance through utilization of job hazard analysis, safe work permitting, behavior based safety, root cause analysis. o Lead and develop employees to improve their capabilities and personal performance using Market Based Management Principles. o Lead or participate in Operational Excellence efforts in the areas of production efficiencies, product yield, operating costs and product quality. o Troubleshoot process and equipment. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising Available to work shift work Available to work weekends / holidays Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong communication (verbal & written), planning, interpersonal and organizational skills Strong leadership and motivational skills Strong team building skills and the ability to work within a diverse team Strong computer skills especially MS Office Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety requirements Ability to manage all aspects of a manufacturing department which include safety, quality, productivity, waste, training, development and discipline Interpersonal and troubleshooting skills Sense of urgency
