Georgia-Pacific Monticello LLC is seeking a talented human resources professional to join our Monticello team. The unionized mill with about 450 employees is located approximately an hour from Hattiesburg, MS. The role requires specific training and organizational development experience and will report to the HR Leader. The Human Resource Manager is responsible for effectively facilitating the training and organizational development process for the mill employees. Additional responsibilities would include the ability to deal with rapidly changing organizational issues and manage the impact of change on the organization, its culture and employees; coordinate, develop and maintain process systems for employee skill development; building teams to effectively focus on innovative approaches to their work processes which will enable employee creativity and leverage competitive advantage; develop and implement employee training on customer needs, product streams, market shifts and competitive advantages. The HR Professional will be an integral member of our HR team and willing to adjust focus to meet the needs of the mill and may include employee/labor relations, supporting supervisors with employee issues, assisting with investigations and corroborating on course of actions, assist with HR compliance initiatives, assisting or directing workforce strategy initiatives, recruiting, etc.

Responsibilities:
Promote positive employee relations with all mill employees,
Provide leadership through effective utilization of Kochs Market Based Management (MBM) and the MBM Framework.
Lead and develop employees utilizing the MBM Guiding Principles and Operations Excellence tools to improve capability and performance.
Recommend improvement opportunities to mill leadership Based on continuous assessment of needs and awareness of latest trends in OD and training.
Develop and implement processes to ensure all employees (salaried and hourly) are job competent.
Support the development of a Competency-Based Learning Employee Skill Improvement (ESI) Certification Process, and the mill ESI team.
Partner with Human Resources, Safety and Mill Operations to lead employee onboarding / new hire / role training.
Develop instructional materials to include manuals, workbooks, testing instruments, etc.to support instructor led training.
Facilitate training content to employees and follow up to insure competency.
Ensure that learning materials and processes comply with all applicable laws, regulations, safety and company policies.
Lead the talent management initiatives at the facility, including role training, succession planning, and enhancing the employee performance review process.
Facilitating principled based decision making through partnerships with managers and supervisors.
Participate in investigating questions and/or complaints; Resolving employee relations issues.
Provide coaching and provide assistance in development and execution of the mills 5-Year Strategic Plan.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or higher.
At least 5 years of experience in a human resources or training & development role.
Prior Human Resources or Training and Organizational Design experience in a manufacturing setting.
Project management experience.
Experience in facilitation/public speaking.
Experience developing and presenting instructor-led learning content.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in organizational development, industrial psychology, psychology, business management, or human resources.
Previous work experience in a union environment.
Previous training experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
Previous experience in the pulp and paper industry.

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Strong Written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of photography, video production, and competency based training and certification models.
Skills necessary to develop training manuals and materials, stand-up presenting skills and train-the-trainer ability.
Ability to resolve conflicts with individuals and groups.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to proactively identify and address skills/talent development needs.
Knowledge of adult learning methods and instructions design.
Candidates must possess knowledge of legal standards in the area of employment law.
Demonstrated leadership showing the ability to affect operational change and performance improvement.
