DESCRIPTION This role will support our manufacturing equipment that is state-of-the-art designed with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) by Allen Bradley. The position is a key resource to ensuring our manufacturing operations run efficiently. Additionally, the position requires Electrician skills to ensure all electrical and mechanical work meets State and Federal Code requirements. Working closely with engineering, the role is responsible for all electronic, pneumatic hardware and software aspects of assigned projects including electrical / control system components including electronic components, VFDs, motors, solenoids and sensors. This position will also provide planning, procurement, and documentation activities for the enhancement of electrical and instrumentation maintenance within the facility by working as a team with the Supervisors, Maintenance Planners, and the Operations Gatekeepers. In addition, this position will provide training to other electricians for maintaining and troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, and controls. This role is a part of a team that manages the manufacturing machinery preventative maintenance program and as such will be needed for on-call rotation for facilities emergencies and off shift requirements. It is required to adhere to all safety and compliance guidelines the company sets forth. RESPONSIBILITIES: o Apply all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies and corporate and mill standards to the planning of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) jobs. o Improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, and coordination of labor, parts, material, tools and equipment access o Maintain appropriate records and files and construe meaningful analysis and reporting o Identify required permits, services and materials, as well as job hazards o Write effective and quantitative Preventative Maintenance procedures (PMs) and detailed scope of work for job plans o Review all executed job plans for accuracy and makes revisions as necessary to PMs, including determining task applicability, frequency, and priority; remove any PMs that can be replaced by a Predictive Maintenance Technology o Review, develop and or modify Bills of Materials for all equipment plant-wide and enter into the facility maintenance system. o Perform pre/post PM and work order audits for accuracy; conduct in-field checks to assess performance o Assume the role of Electrical Superintendent during short-term absences, and receive and respond to emergency calls from Production Department. o Provide support to on-site contractors, including HVAC o Assist the Reliability group as a maintenance/subject matter expert in the reliability centered maintenance strategies and assist with implementing those strategies. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: An Associates degree or higher in a technical field and a minimum of 3 years related maintenance experience, OR a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of related maintenance experience. o Proficient in industrial controls (PLCs, motor controls, control valves, electrical distribution, and industrial instrumentation for flow, pressure and temperature o System programming and configuration with the full complement of programming languages for industrial control such as function block, ladder logic, sequential function charts, and structured text. o Significant PLC system design experience as well as in depth commissioning and startup experience. o Familiarity with many aspects of systems integration (including PLC, HMI, instrumentation, networking, communication, power distribution). o Proficiency with computer operating systems, networks and electronic information handling. o Allen Bradley experience required. o Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays when required o Must be able to read electrical and maintenance schematics / blueprints. o Must be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in noisy, non-air conditioned or unheated areas. o Must be able and willing to work safely, including wearing and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Mechanical maintenance experience, including fluid handling and conveyor systems, hydraulic systems and accumulators, and valve identification and application, welding and machining
