SR SALES REPRESENTATIVE (Account Manager) - Portland, Oregon Job Description: This position sells and services Paper Chemicals to our major accounts and largest more complex target accounts within a region. The Account Manager has the highest set of sales and technical skills enabling him or her to take the most challenging opportunities or issues. He is certainly the one that can be a role model for the other sales members. Would respond to a District or Area Manager. Responsibilities: - Increase Net Sales growth by developing major key applications in existing and/or key target accounts. The focus activities would be for Strength Additives, Coating & Release in the Tissue and Towel market, and Total Air Control and other opportunities in the Board & Packaging market.
- If applicable, manage and organizes the entire service program under a Value-Added approach using skills and some service/support resources to maintain and grow existing business.
- Stays in tune of financial performance information and ensures forecasting data is updated.
- Keeps abreast of changing technology, all GP products and competitive markets (strategic approach, strengths & weaknesses)
- Act as a meaningful contributor to the team within the MBM Framework
Basic Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years of work-related experience in the paper industry.
- Ability to travel 30-50%
Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum 5 years experience in the chemical industry with knowledge of papermaking process and understanding of paper wet end chemistry.
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering or Science, Pulp or Paper Science or a related degree
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities: - Good communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of computer skills with Microsoft programs (PI system knowledge is a plus).
- Ability to work individually and with the team.
- Customer focus, team-oriented, and good communication skills.
