REGIONAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS MANAGER - 015099 Description Georgia-Pacific West, LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Electrical Systems Manager for the Lumber Division. This position is a rewarding combination of hands on technical and project support,along with talent development and coaching of electrical skills in the mills. The position has electrical and control responsibilities for multiple lumber manufacturing facilities within the region. RESPONSIBILITIES - Provide safety leadership and drive a culture that is based on continuous improvement
- Ensure the facility''s electrical systems are operating reliably, efficiently, and in compliance with all electrical safety regulations
- Support mill personnel in problem solving & troubleshooting of PLCs, vision systems, mill information systems, electrical distribution equipment, and manufacturing processes
- Develop mill electrical capabilities through training and hands on work.
- Explore and capture opportunities (both capital and non-capital) that create value for the mills.
- Assist regional engineers in implementation of capital projects.
- Facilitate Root Cause Failure Analysis where appropriate
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - A minimum of five (5) years of experience as an electrical/process control supervisor OR as a highly skilled industrial electrical technician with excellent troubleshooting, programming, leadership, and communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of PLC control systems
- Advanced PLC troubleshooting skills and knowledge
- Experience with 3-phase motor controls, 480V AC systems, and low voltage DC systems
LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENT: - Preferably this position is located near Philomath, Oregon. It will provide technical support for two (2) mills in Oregon. Travel requirement: 30-40%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Associates degree or higher in engineering or a technical field
- Lumber or wood products experience
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES - Advanced experience and capabilities with programming and troubleshooting PLCs, AC drives, PCs and process networks
- Experience with maintaining and troubleshooting plant electrical distribution systems
- Knowledge of electrical safe work practices NFPA 70e
- Ability to analyze problems with manufacturing process and apply both controls and mechanical solutions to improve operations
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word-processing, Microsoft Schedule, and AutoCAD
