Industrial Mechanical & Electrical Technician

This is a highly skilled hourly position requiring a thorough understanding of safe work practices, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and processes. Industrial Mechanical & Electrical Techs will be expected to possess and refine multiple skills in both Mechanical and Electrical crafts.

Key Responsibilities

It is the function of the Industrial Mechanical & Electrical Technician to safely and efficiently troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment in compliance with all plant codes, policies and procedures. This job requires the ability to repair and maintain, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer`s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic components, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision-measuring and testing instruments. The candidate will respond to all maintenance issues, both mechanical and electrical throughout the plant and perform other duties, as required.

Our Georgia-Pacific, Las Vegas Gypsum facility is looking to hire several qualified entry-level and senior-level Industrial Mechanical & Electrical technicians!

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have at least 2 years of industrial electrical or industrial mechanical experience OR a 2 year degree in an industrial electrical or industrial mechanical field
• Must have experience working with electrical, PLCs, A/C, D/D motors and drive controls
• Must have experience working with conveyors, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics and fabrication
• Must be able to read electrical and maintenance schematics / blueprints
• Must have experience diagnosing mechanical and electronic systems using various tools and computers
