The Atlanta-based Law Department is seeking a paralegal with a minimum of four years in-depth experience in the Finance and M&A areas of law. This professional will have the unique opportunity to work closely with Law Department attorneys and directly with in-house business clients and executives on a variety of projects across all of GPs businesses. We are seeking a professional who is interested in taking an active role in a fast paced, team oriented law department.

Responsibilities:
Wide variety of responsibilities including maintenance and tracking of finance agreements (IRBs, bonds, credit agreements and related compliance certifications);
Participate in special projects related to acquisitions and divestitures, including project management of electronic data rooms and facilitating due diligence activities;
Complete general drafting under attorney supervision of non-disclosure agreements, legal notices and other correspondence, and related documentation common for the role;
Conduct legal research and review of transaction documents;
Organize of transaction documents;
Interacts with clients (GP business units) and outside counsel; coordinates and exchanges information at various phases of M&A activities; and
Contributes both as an individual and as a member of a team.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 4 years of finance and/or mergers/acquisitions paralegal experience
Paralegal certification or Bachelors Degree required

Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Integrity and discipline to assume responsibility, exercise initiative and judgment while adhering to legal ethical standards at all times; strong focus on compliance
Project management skills to manage tasks to completion and accept a high level of responsibility in facilitating due diligence and interacting with others deal team members
Advanced knowledge with regard to M&A activities and the preparation of legal documents and an eagerness to learn legal requirements applicable to GP
Excellent verbal and written communication skills ability to effectively communicate complex legal issues to non-legal personnel
Ability to think strategically; skilled at problem-solving; superior analytical, organizational and communication skills
Superior analytical and organizational skills; applies judgment in analyzing issues and proposing alternative courses of action
Ability to interact on a professional level with attorneys and staff, as well as directly with outside counsel and clients
Solid technology acumen (Microsoft Office; document management, databases); experience managing electronic deal rooms.
Must demonstrate a high degree of comfort functioning in a fast-paced transactional environment.
