Position & Responsibilities:

The Plant Reliability Technician (Mechanic) is a full time position supporting the plant reliability improvement program. This position creates value for our organization by maximizing production and machine uptime through use of predictive maintenance knowledge, techniques and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Collection and analysis of vibration, ultra sound, oil sampling and thermographic information for plant equipment, including fans, blowers, electrical motors, gearboxes, compressors and conveyors.
  • Interpret findings to ensure all plant equipment is operating at optimal levels
  • Perform precision maintenance on imbalance fans, misaligned shaft couplings, loose or weak bases, failed bearings, worn sheaves, improper mountings and inadequate lubrication.
  • Implementing lubrication best practices for plant equipment by identifying operating conditions such as load, speed and environment with the proper lubricant, application frequency, the right amount and correct sealing arrangement in order to achieve the optimum equipment life.
  • Assist in the development of new predictive techniques and programs for plant equipment.
  • Contribute to RCFA cases, FMEA analysis and RCM programs
  • Follow applicable Safety, Health and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing any work.
  • Responsible for completing all projects and tasks with minimal guidance, demonstrating proactive attitude to continue improvement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years experience in industrial maintenance
  • Must have experience working with rotating equipment
  • Must have knowledge and/or experience in Vibration Analysis, Lubrication/Oil Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, Equipment Strategies, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Precision Maintenance, and/or Infrared Thermography

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS), Certified Oil Monitoring Analyst (OMA) or Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT) certifications strongly preferred
  • A two-year degree in a technical or related field

Training:

The condition monitoring and precision maintenance tasks require special skills, knowledge and dedication. The assigned technician will be trained on the applications and monitoring technique of the tools, as well as some basic analysis knowledge. It is a continuous learning process and constant follow-up is critical.
