We are seeking an ANALYST to join our group, at the Port Hudson Mill in Zachary, LA.

Within our North American Consumer Products Division, this role is responsible for facility cost analysis and related accounting functions, identification of value creation opportunities and ad-hoc requests.

While in this position you will obtain excellent knowledge of the key drivers of success in our business and will be provided the opportunity to learn from all levels of management in one of the largest private companies in America.

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of economic thinking principles, capability with finance tools such as Excel and Access, and proactive/self-driven work habits. Prior experience within the manufacturing sector is preferred. Key qualities for success will include an inherent high level of integrity and the effectiveness to communicate to internal customers within the framework of our operating culture. A Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or Finance is a minimum requirement.

Responsibilities:
Support the Accounting Group through the completion of mill-wide operational and cost reports.
Obtain a solid working knowledge of the primary drivers of operations and their impact on financial performance.
Lead customer focus by developing strong relationships with the operations team to better understand and anticipate their business needs
Provide input and recommendations for process improvements by respectfully challenging historical practices
Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reports, cost review packages, variances analysis and other supplemental reports
Assist with developing and maintaining a strong internal control environment. Conduct periodic assessments of the internal control processes to help identify and drive corrective actions
Review balance sheet account reconciliation to ensure account balances are correct and adequately supported
Participate in cross-functional business improvement initiatives

Education:
Bachelor`s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3.0 GPA in Accounting Coursework

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:
Strength in Microsoft Office Programs: MS Excel and/or MS Access
Basic understanding of Cost Accounting and of a General Ledger
Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls
Strong work ethic, sense of accountability and responsibility
Able to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Strong customer focus, analytical, financial, and economic thinking skills
Knowledge of economic principles and marginal analysis
