• Project management responsibility for various projects across the facility including capital investments and major maintenance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Providing detailed project scopes and estimates for proposed projects.
• Construction management with both in house and contracted maintenance groups.
• Accurate project management accounting and schedule adherence.
• Leadership and coaching in design and construction with long term reliability as a goal.
• Working with, primarily internal, customers including operating departments, maintenance and engineering staff to develop opportunities to improve competitive position.
• Lead teams to:
• Develop alternatives to capture opportunities
• Evaluate alternatives that most economically capture opportunities.
• Detail design of chosen alternative to develop a comprehensive project execution plan.
• Execute project venture with full responsibility for managing scope, schedule, and estimates.
• Coordinate activities of contractors involved in project execution. Support operations and maintenance teams by providing troubleshooting skills from an engineering perspective.
• Support manufacturing and maintenance activities with engineering principles, expertise and leadership in solving and improving the processes and procedures in the Mill.
• Reports findings and results to management in support of total mill performance initiatives.
• Develops accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
• Checks project documents including, but not limited to:
• Detail design work
• Specifications
• Proposals.
• Develops conceptual plans and schedules for capital and major maintenance projects based on management direction and departmental input.

• A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in an industrial setting required.
• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related field.
• Ability to use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment required.

• Recent experience in the pulp and paper industry.
• Paper mill project engineering experience.
• A minimum of 5 years project management experience in an industrial environment.
• Registration as an Oregon State Professional Engineer

• Capable of providing strong leadership based on integrity, humility, respect, and sound logic through knowledge sharing.
• Willingness to support and positively advance the safety culture within the organization.
• Strong skills in verbal and written communications, planning, and organization.
• Knowledge of spreadsheet, word-processing, critical path method scheduling, and AutoCAD.
