Currently, we are considering qualified professionals for the role of Process Engineer at our Pennington, AL facility.

Responsibilities:

In this position the process engineer is expected to create long term value by:

• Identifying and executing improvement opportunities to reduce fixed and variable costs, waste and improved quality
  
• Troubleshoot process issues on compliance, reliability and quality while working as a Principled Entrepreneur.
  
• Applying economic thinking in developing capital projects and improvement projects
  
• Conducting trials to improve or substitute existing products, quality and reducing waste while sharing the outcome through formal reports.
  
• Driving capital projects as a team with operations, project engineers, process control and reliability engineers in achieving best in class position.
  
• Working with vendors and identifying newer technologies and other opportunities available and implementing them successfully.
  
• Demonstrating strong analytical capability by developing mass/energy balance and process model to help understand the details.
  

This position will initially support the bleached board and additive areas; however, it will rotate through the mill as opportunities arise.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering or pulp/paper science/engineering required
  
• 3 years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing facility required
  
• Knowledge of statistical process control and application
  
• Problem solving and report writing skills
  
• Proficient use of MS office package Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a kraft pulp / paper mill
