Project Engineer Toledo, OR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project management responsibility for various projects across the facility including capital investments and major maintenance. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Working with, primarily internal, customers to develop opportunities to improve competitive position
Lead teams to: - Develop alternatives to capture opportunities
- Evaluate alternatives that most economically capture opportunities.
- Detail design chosen alternative to develop a comprehensive project execution plan.
- Execute project venture with full responsibility for managing scope, schedule, and estimates.
- Coordinate activities of contractors involved in project execution.
- Support operations and maintenance teams by providing troubleshooting skills from an engineering perspective.
- Develop conceptual plans and schedules for capital and major maintenance projects based on management direction and departmental input
- Works with purchasing to obtain bids and conducts value analysis, as well as cost estimates
- Develops accurate investment proposals for capital and major maintenance ventures
- Assists in checkout and start-up activities, conducts post-completion audits of capital and repair projects
- Specifies equipment and construction requirements to implement projects
- Initiates purchase requisitions or contracts for equipment, labor and materials
- Follows all purchasing standard operating procedures
- Manages projects requiring coordination between outside consultants, contractors and mill personnel
- Knowledge of spreadsheet, word-processing, critical path method scheduling, and AutoCAD
- Communicate with operating departments, maintenance and engineering staff to determine opportunities to add value to the facility and recommend and implement solutions to operational issues when necessary
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: - BS in Engineering or related degree (Mechanical, Construction, Electrical or applicable disciplines).
PREFERRED: - A minimum of 5 years of project management experience,
- Industrial experience - Industrial steam power (boilers, turbines, steam distribution, etc) and/or industrial processes and systems.
