NAHEOLA CONSUMER PRODUCTS

Naheola is one of Georgia-Pacifics largest integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facilities located in Pennington, AL. Our employees find work/life balance in the five county areas around the mill of Choctaw, Marengo, Clarke, and Washington Alabama and Lauderdale County Mississippi, home of historic Meridian. These areas offer world-class hunting, freshwater fishing, boating, and water skiing not to mention the opportunity for those weekend getaways at the white-sand beaches of the beautiful Gulf Coast, a few hours drive to the south. Leveraging state of the art technology, the mill offers progressive leadership and a brings diverse mix of products to market which are: Quilted Northern, Angel Soft, numerous private label brands of bath tissue and paper towels, and manufactures paperboard for Dixie food and beverage containers. The facility is committed to continuous improvement through employee innovation, safety, product quality, capital investments, and superior environmental performance. Currently, Naheola is considering qualified professionals for the role of:

Reliability Engineer

This role reports to the Reliability Leader and impacts the profitability of the facility. Supervision is readily available but work execution is self-directed. The ability to work independent of daily supervision, manage time, and generate outcomes that create long-term value by improving reliability, are critical skills. Ability to complete tasks and demonstrate follow-through are required. Specific projects and tasks are outlined by supervisor and checked for completion. For typical decisions made in this job, information is analyzed and interpreted. Projects may require working independently or as part of a team. Qualified candidates will possess:

  • An Ability to apply knowledge of pump and piping systems
  • A failure analysis mentality (RCFA)
  • Troubleshooting skills

They will also be expected to lead and/or participate in development of capital investment proposals to improve plant reliability.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

Mechanical Reliability Engineers will support a wide variety of reliability improvement opportunities in the mill and will develop and apply expertise in:

  • Fluid power (hydraulics) design, application, & troubleshooting
  • Lubrication
  • Mechanical system design
  • Condition monitoring techniques such as vibration, infrared, oil analysis, ultrasonic, and various process testing protocols
  • Further advancement of our Market Based Management culture

Contacts:

  • Occasionally advises or interprets information for management and hourly employees.
  • Occasionally advises or interprets information for equipment manufacturers and other suppliers.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Interpersonal skills of advising, counseling, exchanging information via various methods such as participating in meetings or group discussions and conducting meetings or leading group discussions to share process recommendations; and composing written communications such as technical writing.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor`s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years applied experience in manufacturing / industrial reliability practices

Preferred Qualification(s):

  • Pulp and Paper Industry experienced preferred
