Sr. Technical Sales Rep, Paper Chemicals-Southern Arkansas, Louisiana Area

Summary

This position supports the sale and service requirements of our Paper Chemicals clients, including the generation of new business within (geographic region).

Responsibilities/Expectations

  • Conversion of new business/opportunities into year-over-year profit improvement
  • Develops and maintains a list of key profit improvement strategies that connect well informed points of view to tactics that leverage competitive advantage
  • Building and maintaining key strategic relationships
  • Servicing the targeted customer base in a way that profitably anticipates and satisfies their needs
  • Provides inputs/recommendations for pricing strategy development and profitable deployment
  • Prioritizes and deploys the organizations resources consistent with Business Unit objectives
  • Proactively communicates to keep key personnel (internal and customer) abreast of relevant activities/matters
  • Applies critical thinking and urgency as a first line responder to solving customer problems
  • Applies continuous improvement to the sales process to improve business execution and results


Knowledge and Skills

Critical and economic thinking; strategic thinking; influencing/building partnerships; strong interpersonal communication skills; team building; creativity; self- awareness; urgency; problem solving; conflict resolution; relevant computer skills, if applicable

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in a science or engineering related discipline
  • 3 years of experience in a technical selling or manufacturing (quality, production management, engineering) role
  • Willing to travel up to 50% depending on location
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Pulp & Paper Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in direct account management requiring customer sales/service activities within the chemical industry
  • Specific experience in the pulp and paper industry is a plus
  • Experience in a Technical Service or manufacturing (quality, production, management, engineering) role
