Mechanical Maintenance Planner - Pulping & Utilities
The Georgia-Pacific Corporation Wauna Mill has openings for a Mechanical Maintenance Planner in the Pulping and Utilities area of the facility.
The Wauna Mill Maintenance Planners have responsibilities across planner, supervisor, material coordinator and scheduler roles. A successful candidate will have a long term continuous improvement focus that values establishing systemic processes that are system versus people dependent and create sustainable value.
Responsibilities:
o Fully support the safe work culture of the Wauna mill.
o Responsible for continuing to embrace and cultivate the Market Based Management (MBM) culture throughout the department by utilizing the MBM framework and guiding principles in everyday decision making.
o Provide safe, detailed and prioritized Mechanical maintenance shutdowns and daily work plans.
o Act as a facilitator between the operations personnel and maintenance supervisor to maximize the efficiency and value of maintenance activities in a way that best utilizes skilled craft workers, materials and equipment downtime.
o Update and utilize the job plan library.
o Build and update equipment bills of materials.
o Work with procurement organization and outside vendors to supply parts and services to support the mill maintenance efforts.
o Communicate with and direct contractors on maintenance shutdown days and on as needed basis.
o Have a high sense of urgency and the discipline required to support a 24 hour, 7 day high volume manufacturing operation.
o Support the reliability strategy by leading efforts in Preventative Maintenance, Planning and Scheduling and Maintenance Asset strategies.
o Perform rotating weekend on-call duty for the entire mill and cover for the Mechanical Supervisor as required.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a related field required.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Organized, self-disciplined and willing to work as a team with safety at the forefront.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven Leadership skills.
- Must be willing to work in a tobacco free facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical Degree in related field preferred.
- Previous work experience in a fully integrated paper mill with explicit knowledge of kraft , pulping and recaust mechanical rotating and piping equipment OR experience with power and recovery, turbines, and water treatment processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project) and generating reports.
- Experience working in a CMMS program, preferably Indus Passport.
