Senior Mechanical Project Engineer Brewton, AL Brewton Containerboard The Brewton Mill produces white top linerboard and solid bleached sulfate (SBS) paperboard. The SBS material is used to make a variety of cartons that require high-quality graphics including those for pharmaceuticals, DVDs and cosmetics. White top linerboard is used in production of corrugated containers and displays. Basic Qualifications Required: - Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in Project Engineering/Management in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work occasional weekends and holidays
- Proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project) for use in analysis, communications, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Specific project experience in a Pulp and Paper Manufacturing facility
- Advanced knowledge of Mechanical and Process Engineering concepts and applications in a manufacturing environment
- Large capital project management experience with budgets up to $10 million

Possess the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers and leadership, external suppliers and vendors Responsibilities: Mechanical and project engineering work involving support of the Brewton Mill operations through design, troubleshooting, project guidance, technological standardization and innovation, maintenance strategies, and energy efficiency activities. Involvement includes project scope development, project estimating, project review and management, and mechanical systems design and implementation. Work will involve project management for managing contractors, schedules, scope development, budgets, checkout, commissioning, start-up and various other engineering/management activities as required. The engineer will also assist in the evaluation of existing mill systems and processes to identify and implement solutions that will improve safety and quality, reduce cost and variability while positively impacting the environment and increasing production. Participate with project teams to develop the scope and appropriation grade cost estimates for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects and participate in specification reviews, drawing reviews, safety reviews, and other project document reviews. Provide detail design or support and provide technical assistance to operations, purchasing and construction management in solving both urgent and long term issues, with focus on mills asset reliability and sustainability. Supports operations and maintenance on scheduled and unscheduled unit outages by assisting with scope development, contractor selection and by providing construction management services during the outage. Coordinate with the Project Engineering Leader to ensure active participation of the engineering design team and resolve engineering issues in a timely manner and to deliver all required project documentation. Work closely with other disciplines to develop all aspects of the design requirements for each project. Provide pre and post startup assistance to Construction and Operations to assure that all systems are functioning properly. Work with Operations and Maintenance representatives to ensure that all equipment is properly spared and that sufficient equipment manuals and documentation are received and distributed in accordance with established procedures.
