Georgia-Pacific, a local major forest products company, is looking for Area Reserves/Utility Workers for employment at the Port Hudson facility in Zachary, LA. While assigned to a rotating shift schedule, a production area reserve/utility worker is responsible for vacation and vacancy relief. Additional responsibilities include: general clean up, lift truck operation, hand stacking cartons, and loading rolls. Finally, an area reserve or utility worker is responsible for any other task associated with the area operations assigned by management or a more senior operator.

Requirements

o Must have at least 2 years of industrial experience, manufacturing experience, military experience, OR a 2-year degree in process technology, instrumentation, maintenance, electronics, or related technical program in lieu of experience.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be able to communicate efficiently both oral and written.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to pass a drug test and remain drug free.
• Must be able to work in a hot, cold, dusty, and noisy industrial environment.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends.
• Must be willing to work around dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substances.
• Must be willing to adhere to safety rules and regulations.
• Must be willing to wear safety equipment such as safety glasses, bump caps, hearing protection, safety shoes, etc.
• Must be willing to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for an extended period of time (lifting, walking, climbing, stooping) with or without a reasonable accommodation.
