We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for our San Francisco Bay Packaging facility located in San Leandro, California. This unionized facility employs approximately 190 people. As part of the leadership team for the facility, this position will have the opportunity to assist in strategic human resource initiatives designed to drive continuous improvement of HR and plant metrics.

Responsibilities:
Continuous improvement of the selection process to identify the appropriate talent and level of talent to advance our desired culture and profitably staff the locations.
Ensure employees connect with how they drive value for the company; Identify talent gaps (individually and organizationally) that are obstacles to superior results and coach supervisors on the development of gap closure plans.
Understand, develop, apply, and coach employees on our culture of Market Based Management.

Identify HR Compliance risks and develop gap closure plans to address risks while implementing a systematic approach to maintaining compliance.

Interpreting policies and practices; Managing FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, EEO/AAP.
Investigating questions and/or complaints; Resolving employee relations issues and using each complaint/issue as opportunity to understand the true root cause and develop a plan to resolve the root cause.
Drive innovation in HR functions and processes.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor`s degree or higher.
At least 1 year of HR generalist/manager experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Human Resources Management.
5 or more years of HR generalist/manager experience.
HR experience in a unionized manufacturing environment with direct employee and manager interaction.
Involvement in a changing work environment.

Experience managing Human Resource functions, such as employee or labor relations, training and development, EEO/AAP, Recruiting and Selection, HRIS, or policy administration.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent leadership and ability to drive change and demonstrate Principled Entrepreneurship
Ability to partner with managers and employees to positively impact business results.

Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Demonstrated accountability, critical thinking and responsibility for independent judgment and successful outcomes.
