Responsible for patient registration, precertification, charge capture and coding diagnoses given by physicians. Responsible for posting all payments and balancing with the computer reports at days end. Arranges for patient pre-payments and enforces financial agreements prior to providing service. Gathers charge information and codes, enters into database, completes billing process, and distributes billing information. Files insurance claims and assists patients in completing insurance forms. Processes unpaid accounts by contacting patients and third party payers. Requires a high level of public contact and excellent interpersonal skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent with a combination of two (2) years of billing, bookkeeping, scheduling and/or office procedure experience with medical insurance in either a physician practice, hospitalor medical insurance processing work environment required. Associate`s Degree with multi-specialty group practice setting experience, plus Intermediate ICD-9 and CPT coding abilities preferred.
