GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the overall finance administration, including the coordination and maintenance of the financial accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the bank. Serves as Secretary of the Corporation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages and supervises finance operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates staff; reviews progress and directs changes
· Develops, plans and recommends practices and procedures for the proper financial control of the bank
· Maintains general ledger accounts and prepares regulatory agency and government reports
· Monitors and coordinates the overall reconcilement function
· Directs the preparation of the budget; provides status reports
· Directs and supervises the accounting activities; reviews present accounting procedures and policies and recommends changes which are designed to increase efficiency
· Develops and modifies accounting procedures and policies in order to meet changing requirements of the bank
· Prepares reports for monthly Board of Directors meeting
· Establishes and maintains a classification system for new and established general ledger accounts to meet the reporting requirements of various regulatory authorities and to provide the responsibility centers with adequate operating and financial data
· Establishes operation budgets for each responsibility center based on projected operating cost and the bank’s asset and liability management plan
· Prepares management control reports that compare actual versus planned budgetary performance
· Supervises the preparation of earnings, dividend, and other financial reports
· Analyzes profitability trends and reviews results with bank management
· Reviews and approves all bank capital and operating expenditures
· Establishes and implements operating procedures to ensure proper internal controls in accounting related areas
· Serves as CFO for the Holding Company
· Maintains Holding Company balance sheet, income statement and regulatory reports
· Calculates and maintains the Federal Reserve Bank balances to satisfy reserve requirements
· Serves as a member of the bank’s Asset/Liability Committee
· Purchases and/or sells the bank’s long term investments as directed by the Asset/Liability Committee
· Prepares special reports as requested
· Performs any other related duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
Gulfstream Business Bank is looking for an individual with considerable cash management/treasury operations knowledge and experience including strong technology skills specialized in cash management systems; considerable knowledge of service charge account analysis, including the ability to analyze and prepare cash management proposals; knowledge of lockbox processing systems preferably “Citation”; hands on experience with Microsoft Office, specifically intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel; strong leadership skills, and strong organizational, time management and analytical skills. A Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting is preferred or equivalent technical work experience.
· Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance, and
· Ten years experience in accounting, finance or related field, or
· Any related combination of training and experience
· CPA license
· Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, practices, methods and procedure
· Knowledge of general banking policies and procedures
· Thorough knowledge of principles of business administration
· Ability to administer, supervise and direct the financial activities of the bank
· Ability to evaluate existing accounting methods, procedures, practices and forms and to develop and implement new procedures
· Ability to work independently on complex and confidential tasks
· Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, Board of Directors and the public
