Deposit Operations Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for the day to day management of the deposit operations area including strategic initiatives while also performing a wide variety of operational tasks. These include but not limited to customer support, processing ACH Transactions, ATM/Debit Card processing, returned items/chargebacks, wire transfers, Internet Banking Administration, compliance monitoring, and monthly report generation.

Provides supervision to the Deposit Operations Assistant
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and supervises operations to achieve goals within available resources.
- Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; hires, trains, motivates, and evaluates staff.
- Recommends new strategies and risk management practices to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
- Coordinates Business Express Monitoring with the bank centers including, new customer pickups, fee analysis, monthly pickups.
- Manages Automated Clearing House (ACH) prenote verifications as well as processing ACH files both manually and through the internet cash management system. Maintains ACH Customer Agreements
- Coordinates the review the daily ACH reports for rejects, returns and NOC’s. Reviews & approves necessary entries to customer accounts and the general ledger.
- Able to perform wire transfer functions thru Fedline Advantage and Ocean System’s Fedlink.
- Ensures that all aspects of ATM/Debit Card function including issuance, deletion, maintenance, and EFT Error Resolution Procedures are in compliance at all times.
- Performs monthly deposit compliance monitoring procedures to ensure compliance with various deposit related consumer regulations.
- Processes daily foreign items received by processor to Suntrust.
- Performs monthly item processing tracking of items processed and errors incurred.
- Maintains and updates Operational Procedure Manual.
- Coordinates the research, review and process corrections for encoding error, cash letter adjustments, etc through Suntrust, core processor and/or Federal Reserve.
- Assists in providing support to customers and sales team for the Retail, Commercial Internet Banking and Bill Payment products.· Prepares monthly Deposit Reports for Board of Director Package.
- Complies with established policies and procedures.
- Performs any other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:· High School Diploma or equivalent, and· Five years banking experience in deposit operations, or· Any related combination of training and experience· 2-5 years prior staff supervisory experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities· Knowledge of the banking industry· Knowledge of wire transfers and NACHA guidelines· Knowledge of banking transactions involving financial records and accounts· Some knowledge of modern office practices and procedures· Some knowledge of accounting principles and practices· Skill in the operation of listed tools and equipment· Ability to handle stressful situations· Ability to maintain confidentiality· Time Management skills· Ability to understand financial information· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers,
