Laboratory Technician – Level A

B.S. Chemistry / Biology/ Science field

PHYSIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Standing, walking, sitting – general laboratory setting
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Carry out in-process and final QC testing on all product batches, document results in lab notebooks and batch sheets
2. Write Certificates of Analysis for completed batches, communicate results to chemist in charge of project, and keep fellow lab technicians and supervisor informed of batch status
3. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation
4. Assist in QC method development and instrument troubleshooting
5. Approve Certificates of Analysis for raw materials
6. Maintain files for Certificates of Analysis and Material Safety Data Sheets
7. Follow cGMP guidelines for documentation and lab procedures.
8. Keep lab clean
9. Replenish supplies and maintain supply and chemical inventory
10. Carry out lab-scale product batches as instructed by chemist and/or supervisor
11. Maintain first aid station and supplies; administer first aid when necessary
OTHER DUTIES:
Other duties as assigned.
SAFETY:
Be perceptive of safety issues or violations
Follow OSHA rules and regulations pertaining to safety
Follow cGMP guidelines for lab safety
PERSONNEL:
1. Interact with other lab employees and production personnel to accomplish the necessary duties.
2. Abide by Ortec policies and guidelines on attendance and general behavior
WAGE RANGE:
$11.00 - $17.00 / hour
