GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will support the Arts/Sciences Division - Developmental Studies department at Greenville Technical College.

Duties may include any or all of the following:
  • Teach assigned Developmental English courses
  • Prepare lectures, syllabi, and tests
  • Perform weekly Writing Center service
  • Establish environment conducive to learning
  • Grade and assess student work
  • Maintain accurate records of classes
  • Maintain scheduled office hours
  • Develop - implement new classroom strategies and courses
  • Consult with students and advise students on academic progress
  • Maintain competence through continuous professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in English. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and service beyond the department.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A Master's degree in English or a Master's degree in a related field with 18 graduate semester hours in English. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and service beyond the department. Have the ability to work with colleagues and students to convey knowledge in a form that is understandable. Adaptable to students' needs, to different teaching situations, and be able to motivate students. Able to work in teams and independently. Experience teaching online classes and experience using Smartboard technology. Familiarity with WebCT/Blackboard is desirable. Willingness to teach at branch campuses, evenings, and weekends. Previous two-year college teaching experience.
