Position Summary
Position Summary / Job Description:
1. Effectively manage AR assigned accounts by making timely collections of all accounts while maintaining good customer relationships with a positive attitude.
2. Contact customers regarding upcoming or past due accounts by making phone calls and/or sending written communications, and assuring a commitment from the customers for payment on all outstanding invoices.
3. Resolve delinquent status of accounts.
4. Perform Account/Payment reconciliations.
5. Confirm payments or negotiate payment arrangements.
6. Perform weekly review of assigned accounts to assess and monitor company risk.
7. Assess and recommend accounts to be placed on credit hold or sent to outside collections.
8. Maintain daily documentation on all activities regarding accounts and payment arrangements
Required Skills:
1. Minimum of 5 years in a combination of credit, collections, AR and/or billing.
2. Must possess a good working knowledge of federal and state collection laws.
3. Must have basic accounting skills to be able to research accounts and aging reports.
4. Experience working on aged accounts
5. Experience in working with SAP accounting application a plus.
6. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
7. Knowledge of collection techniques, policies, procedures and principles of credit and collections.
8. Must have the creativity, ingenuity and flexibility to adapt to each customer situation in an unscripted call.
9. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and resolve complex problems with minimal guidance.
10. Individual must demonstrate career progression and skill growth.
11. Professional, detail oriented, organized and efficient.
Preferred Skills:
Bachelors Degree preferred in an accounting and/or finance-related field
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time-management skills and ability to adhere to month-end close timelines.
Education Required:
BS in Accounting or related field; or equivalent years related experience
