Piston PD Engineering

Position Summary
Accountable for the design, design quality and producibility, technical solutions, engineering procedural compliance, and gated process approval for engineering IR&D design activities and foreign certifications for the Piston Engineering Team. This position will report to the Chief Engineer, and will be the Process owner and be accountable for planning and execution of engineering design solutions. Successful candidates will work with the engineering team to ensure specific platform initiatives are supported by the design staff, and ensure the design engineering elements of all integrated project plans and relevant statements of work are robust and meet technical and program requirements
Responsibilities may include other professional duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Requirements
Required Skills:
Aircraft systems knowledge, including systems integration. Ability to initiate and complete small to medium sized IR&D projects. Detailed understanding of FAA certification requirements for Part 23 aircraft, with high-level working knowledge of HBC ODA procedures. Demonstrated ability to lead teams when communication and coordination are critical requirements.
Good communication skills are required.

Preferred Skills:
Strong presentation skills that are readily adaptable to various audiences.
FAA type certification experience
10+ years of aviation experience, with at least 5 years in an aircraft design or systems integration role
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Working knowledge of CATIA V5 and Enovia V6, as well as Mentor Graphics

Education Required:
B.S. in Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

Pilot’s License optional, but preferable
