Responsibilities
Position Summary / Job Description:
Ensuring all flight planning requirements have been met;
Completing an aircraft pre-flight inspection before each departure;
Checking weather, all applicable NOTAMs and determining fuel, oil and oxygen requirements;
Determining aircraft weight and balance;
Ensuring assigned aircraft are airworthy, duly registered and appropriate documentation is on board the aircraft;
Knowing and complying with relevant FARs, Flight Operations Policy and SOP;
Ensuring all flight crewmembers under his command have applicable and valid licenses, medical certificates, passports and visas if and when required;
Briefing passengers and crewmembers in accordance with the FAR & company requirements;
Operating assigned aircraft in accordance with the AFM, SOP and aircraft limitations;
Ensuring compliance with customs, immigration, export and cabotage laws when applicable;
Completing all post flight duties, including notification to dispatch of any deviation from a planned itinerary or location, debriefs, distribution of defects and recording of aircraft flight time and cycles;
Participating fully in the HBC Flight Operations safety management system by:
• Becoming knowledgeable and utilizing the safety management features of the SMS;
• Actively identifying, reporting and mitigating hazards and safety-risk management deficiencies;
• Attending and participating in the Risk
Awareness and Safety Promotion
Providing timely input to management to ensure the company’s safety risk profile is accurate and up-to-date; and
When appropriate, applying risk management tools to make sound preflight and in-flight decisions.
Maintaining required currencies mandated by FARs and company policy;
Maintaining currency on special equipment required for flight operations (Electronic Flight Bags);
Maintaining required currency of all assigned navigation publications;
Maintaining currency on software operating procedures for computer programs which are critical to flight operations (JeppView,FlightDeck, UltraNav);
Participating in all necessary data gathering processes for department and Flight Operations metrics; Accurately apportioning work hours and expenses to proper accounts;
Performing other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot;
Providing standardized services tailored to meet customer expectations

Minimum First Officer Qualifications

HBC Pilot Demonstration Operations First Officer/Safety Pilot
Training in model
First Class Medical
One third of experience requirement in last 12 months
Trained to proficiency

Education Required:
Bachelor's degree

Other Considerations:
Extensive travel
