Job Description:
The Cafeteria Employee works under the supervision of the Team Leaders. Prepares, serves food and beverages to customers, performs cashier duties, replenishes food and supplies and maintains a clean serving area. Performs other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
Employee in this position perform the following technical competencies:
Prepares, portions and serves food and beverages as ordered by customers (includes preparation of breakfast items, grilled sandwiches, and fried foods).

Communicates appropriately to customers and responds to requests promptly and courteously.

Sets up, portions and serves prepared food, including hot food, salads and desserts.

Operates cash register and accuracy must be within 1% of sales.

Replenishes food and supplies. Processes all food and supplies according to sanitary regulations.
Maintains cleanliness of counters, equipment, tables, floor and empties trash as needed.

Operates equipment according to sanitary and safety regulations.

Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION: High school education or equivalent.

LICENSURE: NA

EXPERIENCE: Previous cafeteria experience; grill and/or cash register or customer relation's experience.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL/MOTOR SKILLS: Inputs customer's selection in cash register using precise hand/eye coordination. Speaks clearly while talking on the telephone. Hand/Eye coordination in using utensils to dip or prepare proper portions of food for customers.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Courteous and excellent customer service skills. Cooperates with fellow employees.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stoop, stand, reach, climb, lift, push, walk, and operate equipment. Ability to move from area to area to gather supplies and serve customers. Ability to stand entire shift at grill, steam tables and register. Operates various pieces of equipment such as the grill, register, soft serve machine, coffee machine and steam tables.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES: Ability to follow procedures and instruction on operation of equipment and serving customers. Ability to operate the cash register. Organizes work process to meet meal service deadlines.

ESSENTIAL SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to inspect foods for quality by taste, smell and visually. Ability to listen to customer requests.

EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS: Cleaning chemicals, burns, falls, cuts, back injuries.
