JOB SUMMARY
The Labor Coach works under the supervision of the Process Leader - Human Resources, Education & Heartland Counseling. The purpose of this job is to provide workflow and resource productivity consultation. Develops labor budget and determines resources needs, availability, and financial impact utilizing a comparative hospital database. This position works closely with hospital CFO and department heads and other internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Provide on site consultation to hospital CFO and Department Managers to help utilize resources most efficiently (labor, supply, other)
Analyze labor utilization data and comparative information regarding staffing levels as it relates to profitability and cost; Develop recommendations for labor budget and staffing allocation
Provide workflow and resource allocation recommendations that help customer meet Premier's comparative data benchmarks; provide clinical process improvement support
Analyze reports and develop recommendations to enhance productivity, and trouble shoot to provide client satisfaction.
Conduct productivity analysis utilizing operational comparative data; conduct resource utilization, length of stay, cost per case utilizing clinical comparative data
Facilitate client problem solving sessions
Document validated savings
Participate in knowledge sharing activities
Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required in industrial engineering or related discipline
LICENSURE:
None.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 5 years of finance and business analysis experience required. Hospital or Healthcare industry experience preferred. Information technology experience helpful. Six Sigma certification with performance improvement consulting preferred. Proven ability to work in a matrix environment.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL/MOTOR SKILLS:
Intermediate to expert in Client Consultation , knowledge in Financial Analysis, Data Interpretation, and conducting Staffing Analysis. Microsoft Office, with strong EXCEL and Access Database. Ability to analyze report and develop recommendations to enhance productivity, and trouble shoot to provide client satisfaction. Ability to work autonomously with very limited supervision as well as collaboratively with others; Project management and presentation skills.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to include advanced interpersonal and communication skills;
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting, moving, reaching, bending, stooping, standing, walking, typing, operating small business equipment.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES:
Analyze, synthesize, evaluate, comprehend, explain, understand, forecast, interpret, manipulate numbers, interpret data, calculate, organize, plan, small and large group presentations.
ESSENTIAL SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Visual skills, hearing.
EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS:
Electrical output of personal computer, eye/neck strain.
