Job Description:
The TL-Performance Improvement works under the direction of the PL - Quality Safety Risk. Is responsible for the design, deployment, monitoring and evaluation of the organizational performance improvement program. Plans, directs, and coordinates the resources necessary to provide support to improvement teams and delivering results in specific times frames. Consults with leadership to identify process improvements to achieve operational and strategic goals. Educates leaders and other key stakeholders in all performance improvement concepts, including Six Sigma tools and methods.
Performs other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Employee in this position perform the following technical competencies:
Manages and oversees internal certification of Apprentice Black Belts, Black Belts and Master Black Belt. Responsible for ensuring that all Black Belts meet deliverables and the time frame commitments to their respective teams.
Consults with senior leadership and administration to recommend potential PI projects to achieve operational and strategic goals.
Identifies, develops and implements processes to share "lessons learned" from Performance Improvement Initiatives throughout the organization.
Applies rigorous analytical skills and persuasive leadership skills to improvement efforts.
Carries PI concepts, plans, and tools to Senior Leadership. Educates and maximizes the understanding of PI techniques and improvement efforts throughout the organization.
Refines and maintains PI infrastructure including Six Sigma, infrastructure models, plans, objectives, tools and measures.
Prepares, administers and manages the overall PI operations and budget. Monitors and analyzes budget variances to ensure effective cost containment.
Aligns with operational staff assigned to operational improvement to ensure communication between the entities, as well as providing input on combined projects.
Responsible for staying abreast of current and innovative trends in performance improvement.
Creates, plans, implements and maintains PI strategic plans.
Produces significant results in cost savings, productivity and quality improvements.
Provides oversight and direction of multiple PI projects and communicates results to keep leadership informed of the initiative and recognize success.
Provides enterprise leadership for PI/Six Sigma initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Baccalaureate degree required. MBA or MHA preferred.
LICENSURE/ CERTIFICATION:
Prefer certification as Black Belt in Service/ Healthcare or Industrial/ Manufacturing or working towards certification.
EXPERIENCE:
Five years of progressively responsible management experience required. Demonstrated analytical skills or Black Belt certification. Must have knowledge of latest performance improvement systems and previous experience with leading Performance Improvement Initiatives, involvement with Six SigmaLEAN or other similar improved methodology. Quality awards programs preferred (demonstrated results in five or more DMAIC or equivalent project methods). High level of proven team leadership; demonstrated ability to lead and execute multiple engagements simultaneously. Facilitation and presentation skills required. Previous experience in Information Services, computer science, including analytical applications preferred. Five years of progressively responsible management experience required. Previous diverse nursing experience desirable.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moving, walking, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and restraining. Must travel throughout the Heartland complex to meet with users in their environment.
