Job Description:
The Reg. Speech Pathologist works under the supervision of Team Leader. Evaluates, develops plan of care and treats patients with communication or swallowing deficits. Evaluates, plans and implements treatment programs for the rehabilitation of patients, as directed by a physician, using approved treatment procedures. Provides patient/family education. Participates in family conferences. Is responsible for all necessary documentation as required by accepted medical guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned.

FIM certification is applicable in Acute Rehab Unit.
Job Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Graduate of Master of Science degree program accredited in Speech Pathology.
LICENSURE: Licensed in Missouri, completion or in process of completion of certificate of clinical competency. BLS certification required.
EXPERIENCE: None
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL/MOTOR SKILLS: Manipulation of small items; fine motor skills; speaks clearly, input data.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Normal social interactive skills.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Walking, moving, bending, pushing, reaching, lifting.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES: Analyzing, synthesizing, following rules, manipulating numbers, short/long term memory, organizational skills, explaining, and forecasting.

EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS: Body fluids; occasional exposure to x-rays.
