Job Location: Farmington, MO

The Therapist (F/t) provides assessment and strength-based therapy services to clients and families directly served by PCHAS.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Conduct assessment and diagnosis and provide individual, group and family therapy for assigned clients on a weekly basis in accordance to the accepted therapy model.

During each week of service, provide case notes documenting all therapy sessions as well as any other requested report or clinical documentation conducted in that week.

Provide input to PCHAS treatment team on identified issues, symptomology and possible interventions to be used in the development of master treatment plans and plan revisions.

Attend clinical staffings, staff meetings, and trainings as assigned by the supervisor. These hours are designated as required and non-billable.

Produce 9 billable hours per week (50 minute sessions) according to individual plan developed with Clinical Director.

Provide other therapy paperwork, as needed, to maintain client files according to licensing/accreditation/payer standards.

Submit payroll time sheets to designated staff on a timely basis, if not salaried.

Performs duties as negotiated to meet agency goals and objectives.



EDUCATION:

Therapists shall possess a masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling. Must be either licensed or provisionally licensed in a clinical discipline, i.e. LCSW, LPC, etc. Must be able to qualify as a Missouri Medicaid provider.

EXPERIENCE:

A combination of education and experience which meets the legal requirements of the State of Missouri for licensing as an LCSW or LPC, and previous job experience working with at-risk children, adolescents, and their families.

SKILLS:

Must have skills in the area of assessment, treatment, diagnosis, and the ability to provide services to children and adults in individual, group or family situations; ability to conduct oneself in a competent and professional manner commensurate with the standards of skill, ethics and practice as are, and may be expected or required of persons engaged in the discipline of therapy in this state.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

Must be able to operate computer and other office machines such as fax, calculator, telephone, and so on.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching. May require lifting up to 25 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, the telephone and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

Those demands typically encountered by a therapist providing services to children, adolescent, and adult clients. Must have the ability to work with people from various ethnic groups in a culturally competent manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

May conduct therapy in an agency office, in home, or at times may choose an outdoor setting depending on weather conditions.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Persons in this positions must:

Hold a valid drivers license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record.

Undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and child care/elder care disqualification list screenings as conducted by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services utilizing the Family Care Safety Registry.

Upon request must submit fingerprints for review by the Missouri Highway Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment physical with the results showing no evidence of communicable disease.

Be trained and certified, and re-certified as scheduled, in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR.

Be trained and practice TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) principles and techniques).
