Balchem is looking for a Cost Analyst. Responsibilities will include providing financial support to the company's Procurement and Engineering functions. The individual should have an eye towards continuous improvement, leveraging technology and other solutions to automate and scale our processes to enable strategic decisions. The individual must possess excellent critical thinking skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and possess an attention to detail.


  • Liaison between Balchem Corporate Purchasing and key Finance & Accounting stakeholders such as Commercial Finance and Cost Accounting
    • Develop the company's capabilities regarding raw material budgeting & forecasting; own standard cost setting for direct material spend
    • Analyze progress against budget/forecast and provide clear insights regarding purchase price variance drivers and related impact on company's profitability
    • Support Procurement organization's cost improvement initiatives; confirm and approve presented savings
    • Ad Hoc support for MRO purchases, as required
  • Act as a primary Finance business partner with the company's Engineering team
    • Improve process for tracking actual project costs & forecasting future project spend & cashflow
    • Track actual ROI on completed projects; develop insights regarding variance vs. planned returns
    • Partner with project managers & general accounting to ensure timely closure of capital projects in the company's accounting systems
    • Investigate ERP capabilities regarding project management
  • Other Ad Hoc as needed


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA a plus
  • 3-5 years of directly related Finance experience within a manufacturing/supply chain organization
  • Strong Excel Skills, Microsoft office suite, Power BI a plus
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Aptitude to succeed in a competitive and deadline-oriented environment
  • Solid understanding of Information Systems/ERP Systems
