Qualifications:
Must have a technical degree in a field related to Architecture/Engineering/Construction Management. Minimum of three years experience in facilities project work. Must possess a working knowledge of building professions, trades and crafts for the purposes of developing budgets and schedules. Must have demonstrated proficiency in scheduling software programs (Microsoft Project and Primavera (P3)). Must have to ability to perform project take offs and estimating using means guides or other similar cost estimating tools. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office software programs, possess strong organizational skills and be able to function within a dynamic capital program team framework.
Job Description:
Under the general direction of the Vice President and Director of Construction of Facilities Design and Construction (FD&C), the Project Controls Engineer prepares, monitors and reports on capital project budgets and schedules. The Project Controls Engineer works with the Project Managers and their project team to develop capital project budgets, prepare project cost estimates, review contractor pricing proposals for new and changed work, as well as developing baseline project schedules and monitoring schedules throughout the course of the project. The Project Controls Engineer monitors overall cost factors of the construction industry and advises the project teams on dealing with the uncertainties of the construction cost impacts within the dynamic framework of the hospital's capital projects program. The Project Controls Engineer prepares monthly cost and schedule reports of the capital program for departmental review.
