Job Description:
Cardiovascular Clinical Nurse Specialist for our Telemetry Unit. Current Calif RN Lic. & MSN in required area of clinical specialty required, certification in specialty preferred. Min. 5 yrs recent clinical experience in related area of practice & formal teaching exp. required. BLS cert. is required prior to clinical orientation. Must be self directed, flexiable and have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational & leadership skills. Computer skills including Powerpoint, Word & Excel required. Must have knowledge of advanced nursing theory & clinical proficiency specific to age of population served. Knowledge of quality improvement techniques, data reporting, evidence-based nursing & research methodologies required. Functions as an expert clinician in patient care management. Collaborates with all members of the interdisciplinary team to a) anticipate & respond to changes in patient status which impact patient/family perceptions of care; b) utilize & evaluate professional & regulatory practice standards in patient care delivery; c) identify patient, family & clinical staff learning needs; and d) facilitates interdisciplinary communication and program development to meet those needs. Functions as a clinical expert, consultant, researcher, educator & leader to plan patient care & ensure optimal patient care outcomes & delivery. Utilizes the nursing process based on research & evidence. Utilizes quality improvement techniques & data reporting methods.
