Qualifications:
Required:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems field or equivalent work experience.
•Minimum of five (5) or more years of healthcare application integration work experience including experience with Health Level 7 (HL7) interface programming, healthcare industry-specific interface standards and code sets (ANSI, HIPAA, SNOMED, etc.), and interface engines and tools (e.g. Cloverleaf)
•Minimum of two (2) years of relevant architecture experience, preferably within an acute hospital environment.
•Advanced level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration.
•Minimum one (1) year experience managing medium to large data integration projects
•Experience with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel and Access.
Preferred:
•Two (2) or more years experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

Job Description:
The Applications Integration Architect is responsible for providing expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business. He/she determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical data integration solutions, utilizing appropriate processes. The Applications Integration Architect is also responsible for creating programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse. He/she researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies for possible application to the business. Provides technical leadership for data modeling, data integration and data programming.
Essential Functions:
•Maintaining and enforcing the enterprise application integration architecture.
•Defining and maintaining development standards and methodologies.
•Defining and maintaining integration data exchange standards.
•Identifying and approving required development/design tools and utilities for use by the application integration analysts.
•Developing common data models required for data conversion activities.
•Maintaining the inventory of interfacing applications and integrations.
•Developing and maintaining the reusable service repository, design patterns and reusable technical components (e.g. exception handling, auditing, logging, etc.).
•Position may require local travel between various Hoag Hospital (Hoag) locations and its affiliates.
•Position may require participation in 24/7 department on-call program. On-call employees are required to carry a department issued phone or pager, respond to calls within 15 minutes, troubleshoot problem and provide services off-site as needed and be available to provide services on-site as needed within 1 ½ hours of being called or paged to respond.
•Position may require participating in meetings outside of normal business hours including occasional evenings and/or weekends.
