Job Description:
Previous Donor Room management experience required with the ability to write business plans and increase our donor base. Responsible for overall operation and management of the Blood Donor Services program. Is a member of the Blood Bank Quality Unit and attends Operations and Occurrence Report Review meetings. Responsible for ensuring a complete and current set of standard operating procedures that describe all the steps in the collection of blood and blood components. Ensures new employee training and annual competency and proficiency testing. Conducts occurrence reporting and investigation. Ensures regulatory compliance, monitors and responds to changes in regulations, and represents Blood Donor Services during regulatory inspections. Ensures completion and review of all required quality control and preventative maintenance. Conducts ongoing systems analysis and continuous quality improvement to ensure efficient operations and donor safety and satisfaction. Coaches, counsels and evaluates personnel.
Responsible for supervision of recruitment staff and overall management of blood donor recruitment program that may include any or all of the following: 1) develop and maintain business model 2) establish, meet and exceed annual collection goals 3) conduct outreach into surrounding community 4) donor recognition events and materials 5) develop marketing materials 6) public relations and media appeals 7) direct supervision of recruitment and scheduling staff. 8) response to blood shortages 9) participation in project and SOP development involving donor recruitment and scheduling software, mobile collections and space design, and 10) funding appeals
