Qualifications:

Required:
•5 -10 years in clinical experience
•Clinical Degree (Nursing, M.D. or D.O or Respiratory Therapy) with proven knowledge and experience with computer applications/systems utilized in a healthcare organization.
•Minimum 2-5 years experience in clinical information systems implementation

Preferred:
•Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and prior leadership experience preferred

Job Description:
Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Adoption in working with the clinicians to implement best practices to drive efficiency within the organization as it relates to clinical information systems. The Clinical Adoption lead will be responsible for creating and implementing change management plans that minimize clinician’s resistance and maximize clinician engagement in adoption of new technology as it relates to clinical information systems. Supervises the clinical adoption team in working with the clinical customers to understand their requirements, map process models, design technical solutions to satisfy requirements. Oversees the clinical adoption team in working with the clinical staff in researching, developing, and selecting new technologies that will improve the clinical process and workflow. Works with the Director of Clinical Adoption in developing and implementing strategies to move Hoag’s Clinical information systems toward a fully integrated computerized patient record. Provides a strategic approach for workflow analysis, development, device integration, implementation and planning as it relates to clinical systems. Includes but not limited to facilitating the communication, adoption and effective use of technologies supporting clinical information systems. This person will support and act as coach for the Clinical Adoption team in developing strategies for integration of change management and coordinate activities around organization changes and readiness. They will be responsible to lead impact assessments, communication plans and assist with organizational design to support clinical transformation initiatives. Assists in implementation of a clinical engagement structure to support clinical transformation initiative. Looks outside of business area to learn industry trends, finds benchmark data, identifies opportunities and recommends updates to clinical systems and process for a competitive advantage. Demonstrates thought leadership and incorporates best practices. Identifies impact, connection and integration points to make aligned decisions that fit the needs of the organization and clinician community. Reviews current clinician programs and changes within the clinician community, analyzes rollout/timing and finds synergies between projects and recommends aligned implementation

Responsibilities of a Clinical Adoption Lead include:
•Managing the clinical adoption analyst in adoption and change management processes to ensure successful outcomes
•Oversee the clinical adoption analyst in adoption and change management processes to ensure successful outcomes
•Applies a structured change management approach and methodology created by design sessions and change efforts
•Develops a change management strategy based on situational awareness of the details of the change and the groups being impacted by change
•Coaches the clinical adoption team to make system wide decisions related to workflow, clinical content and training
•Leads the clinical adoption analyst in developing workflow sessions with clinicians that include but not limited to design, build and validate process, creating plan and approach in leading the Clinical Adoption Analysts in workflow sessions
•Coordinates development of specifications from clinical design session
•Guides the clinical transformation initiatives supported by the application of healthcare information technologies, operational improvement and workforce transition
•Creates and supervises the documentation to ensure standardization of agreed upon workflows.
•Uses project management to help lead system-wide clinical teams in developing and implementing standardized care transformation processes leveraging clinicians in the transformation process
•Develop and implement measurement systems to track adoption, utilization and measure success
•Develop a set of actionable and targeted change management plans – including communication plans, sponsor roadmap, coaching plan, training plan and resistance management plan
•Interact with project sponsors, stakeholders and various project members to ensure that specified business needs are met.
•Collaborates with Director of Clinical Adoption in development and implementation of a governance structure, including leadership groups to oversee the decision and progress of clinical content development
•Performs related duties as assigned
