Job Description:
Current Calif RN Lic. with BLS cert. & Masters degree in Nursing or related field required. Verbalizes knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS, Title 22 and regulations as it applies to health care. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) via the American Association of Diabetes Educator with a min. of 5 years in clinical practice in the diabetes field with 3 years at the supervisory or manager level. Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist preferred. Excellent oral & written communication skills with all levels of personnel required. Must be computer literate, PowerPoint, data bank & financial analysis functions.
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian's Allen Diabetes Center is a recognized program for Diabetes self management education (DSME) and Sweet Success gestational Diabetes programs. The largest component of the patient base is adult diabetics. The Clinical Director will oversee all aspects of diabetes care delivered under the aegis of Hoag, including the clinical, educational, academic, administrative, programmatic and interdepartmental aspects. He/she will forge relationships across the organization within inpatient and outpatient areas to improve the treatment, management and prevention of diabetes in the service area. Reporting to the Vice President Centers of Excellence, the Clinical Director will grow the clinical practice and sustain a clinical research program germane to the field of diabetes.
