After Hours Nurse Manager / Full Time At Will

Job Location: Lake Havasu City, AZ

Job Type: Exempt / Full-time; At-Will

Reports To:
Clinical Services Director

Exposure Category:
1; All procedures or job related tasks involve an inherent potential for body fluid exposure.

PHI Category:
Group 3 - Unlimited access to the PHI of all patients for whom the individual must provide services; only the minimum necessary to complete assigned duties. This group may not have access to PHI of patients who they do not serve.

Supervisory Authority:
Responsible for the supervision of After Hours CNA's; nursing staff and patient care volunteers in the home.

DOL Strength Rating:
Heavy Work - Lifting 50 to 100 pounds occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds constantly to move objects.

General Summary:
Responsible for providing skilled nursing assessments, planning and care in order to maximize the comfort and health of patients and families.

Knowledge:
  • Hospice philosophy of care
  • Principles and processes for providing excellent customer and personal services. This includes assessment and evaluation of satisfaction
  • Business and management principles, leadership technique and coordination of people and resources
  • Structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Information and techniques needed to assess human injuries and diseases. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions
  • Principles and methods of teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects

Skills:
  • Assists Clinical Services Director with strategic planning for department
  • Provides and manages direct care to patients and families, assessing and identifying needs utilizing palliative and supportive nursing process.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems
  • Provide leadership at IDT meetings, develops, updates and reviews care plan, and facilitates team problem solving
  • Initiate communication with staff and physicians to coordinate care
  • Attend continuing education as requested by supervisor
  • Implement and monitor compliance with agency policies and procedures
  • Address problems with service delivery and staff development
  • Assess, coaches and evaluates staff level of competence. Develops programs that foster continued growth and development of staff.
  • Maintains required records, reports and statistics for administrative, quality assurance, safety, and infection control purposes. Communicates requirements to staff and holds staff accountable to established requirements.
  • Serves as a professional role model and mentor to staff by responding positively to change while supporting colleagues through the change process.
  • Provides guidance in communication relating to patient care

Credentials and/or Experience:
  • Current Arizona RN license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Two years of varied clinical nursing experience; home health or hospice preferred
  • Advanced education or certification, preferred

Salary Grade 37:
$49,497 - $61,872 - $74,246
