Accountant Entry Level
Job Location: Columbia, MD
Job Description:
HR Anew is human resources consulting and professional services firm located in Columbia, Maryland. We help employers recruit, educate, survey and retain their employees.
HR Anew is currently helping a client find you, a top notch entry level Accountant who will work within Contract Administration in the Financial Department of our client. Our client believes that their company is only as good as its people!
Position Responsibilities:
* Properly validate contract input information before contract activation.
* Daily interaction with sales personnel.
* Requires accountability on several fronts, and the ability to meet firm deadlines is imperative. Accountable for training of staff, team performance, meeting deadlines, quality of work, minimization of errors, etc.
* Problem solver relative to department issues, relations with "internal" customer and general customer service.
* Responsible for problem solving with regard to department issues.
* Should also be proactive, productive and effective identifying business issues and generating effective solutions.
* Other responsibilities and analysis as required.
Characteristics/attributes/experience requirements:
* A.A. College degree required in Accounting or related field.
* Minimum 1+ years of accounting and /or production environment.
* Ability to quickly learn and become adept at new tasks, procedures, etc.
* Ability to work independently and to work well in a teaming/collaborative environment and creatively solve business issues.
* Ability to manage a large workload and adapt to re-prioritization as necessary in a rapidly changing environment.
* Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office products.
* Ability to work effectively and collaborate with others.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Detail-oriented and organized
* Strong and demonstrate analytic skills and experience with turning business problems into production solutions.
* PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred.
