Accounts Payable Accountant
Job Location: Alexandria, VA
Description:
HR Anew is a Human Resource consulting and professional services firm located in Columbia, MD. We help employers recruit, hire, inspire, and retain employees. We have been engaged to assist a client in finding high-performance, self-motivated candidates for the position of Accounts Payable Accountant. Our client is an analytical consulting firm located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.
Duties include:
* Review and process all vendor invoices including coding, verifying accuracy, verifying approvals and entering into accounting system, prepare for payment
* Obtain signatures on account payable checks
* Reconcile credit card accounts
* Assist with month-end A/P closings
* Answer all vendor inquiries
* Inform management of payment issues
* Create and maintain vendor files
* General Ledger reconciliation
* Perform filing and copying
* Other accounting duties as assigned
Requirements:
* Accounting degree preferred, but not required.
* 2+ years accounting experience
* Good organizational skills and detail oriented
* Highly motivated
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
This position offers an excellent compensation and benefits package to include 401k with an employer match, profit-sharing, tuition assistance and flexible work schedules, SmartTrip Metrochek, parking, and $40 a month for commuting.
Relocation and/or interview travel expenses are not reimbursable for this position.
