Basic Function: Responsibilities include taking the first notice of loss (FNOL) from personal and commercial lines customers. Will also investigate, evaluate, and promptly conclude personal lines auto and property claims that do not require field investigation. Project a positive image of Farm Bureau by fairly and efficiently negotiating and settling claims with all customers. Assist in training claim personnel as requested.
**Initial hours after training: 10:30 - 7:00 Monday - Friday; Saturdays and Sundays on rotational basis.**
Qualifications: Two years of college or equivalent plus prior customer experience in a fast paced environment. Prior claims experience preferred. Ability to exercise independent judgment and arrive at decisions through sound, logical reasoning. Excellent communication skills are required as approximately 50% of time will be spent on the telephone. Enroll in continuing education courses such as IIA or AIC. Must learn and comply with the Unfair Claims Practices Act (Rule 60), policy knowledge, and other governmental or company rules and regulations. Must be PC literate and be able to learn CICS and effectively use Workflow, a paperless document system. Familiarity with Windows applications required. (Lotus Notes and Excel). Must have the ability to read, write and speak the English language. Bilingual language skills would be helpful.
