Description: Position is responsible for assisting food services program of the Huron campus. This includes the planning, preparation, and documentation of the menus offered. It also includes working with other cooking staff to assure that menus are offered as planned. Cook meals according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restrictions, and number of portions to be served. Monitor use of government food commodities to ensure that proper procedures are followed. Serve food and maintain records of inventory, food use and expenditures. Clean work area and wash dishes. Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food handling practices. Substitute for or assist other cooks during emergencies or rush periods. Other duties as assigned. Must possess a Driver`s License and ability to drive safely. Must be able to obtain ServSafe certification. All applicants must be able to read, speak, and write English language effectively. Must have the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, dishwashers, mixers, frying pans and other preparation equipment. Ability to be in contact with chemical cleansers and sanitation supplies. Schedule is rotating schedule to include weekends and holidays.
