Description: Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Health Information Technician (usually an AA degree) or Registered Health Information Administrator preferred. Graduates from CCS or CCS-P programs may be considered. Proficiency in ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS coding systems and knowledge of DRG`s and APC`s required. Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease pathology required. Performs a variety of tasks involved in processing outpatient and inpatient medical records for purposes of billing and statistics accumulation. Performs various related tasks in the overall Health Information Managment Department function. 80 hours per two week period. Shifts will be 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. 8 hour shifts. Weekends as needed. Holidays as needed.
