Overview:
AQYR, Inc., Executive Search has been asked to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Wichita, KS aerospace manufacturing group. Our client is known for their high quality, high value and excellent service.
Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for development and design of new products and applicable maintenance of current designs.
• Mechanical design of new products; electromechanical, motors, shafts, bearings, springs,
machined, molded, sheet metal, DFM, electrical interconnect, etc.
• Research of new parts, processes, or methods to incorporate into new designs.
• Prototyping and testing for design validation.
• Design documentation including solid modeling and assembly drawings.
• Engineering Change Orders of new and existing designs.
• Bill of Material creation and maintenance.
• Creation of manufacturing work instructions for production implementation of designs.
• Implementation of new engineering designs as they transition to production.
• Assessment of tooling requirements including tooling design or specification.
• Part and vendor evaluation and qualification.
Qualifications:
The best candidate for the Mechanical Design Engineer will have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. 3.2 minimum GPA or 3 years relevant experience required
• 2+ years experience in electromechanical design preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interface with production
personnel, engineering, management, and other departments.
• Incorporation of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD required.
• Significant solid modeling software experience, SolidWorks preferred.
