Position Overview:

The Project Engineer is involved in the coordination of sustaining engineering projects, with an emphasis upon Quality and Cost improvement.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducts in-house testing and develops prototypes.
• Prepares mechanical designs and cost estimates on assigned projects in accordance with Kim and AAL brand capabilities and established cost parameters.
• Responsible for implementation of lighting fixture and controls application requests.
• Prepares sufficient details on working drawings, and submits them to drafting supervisor for completion.
• Reviews final drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Organizes and evaluates product structure data in preparation for computerized data entry
• Performs all of the above tasks in accordance with appropriate department procedures.
• Performs other related engineering projects as assigned.

Qualifications include:

1. Bachelor of Science in an Engineering related field of study and drafting a must.

2. Experience in a design manufacturing environment that produces similar commercial products is desired.

3. Proficient on CAD software, preferable Solid Edge. Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D Drafting

4. Good analytical skills and attention to detail.

5. Good reading, writing, oral communication and math skills.

6. Ability to operate basic shop machining equipment for building prototypes.

7. Ability to read wiring diagrams and have a fundamental understanding of electrical components and outdoor lighting fixtures.

8. Knowledge controls technology needed, exposure to LED technology is a plus.
