Position Overview: The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for HR generalist support of the Hubbell Electrical Systems Platform, with emphasis on day-to-day support of the union and salaried employees based at Killark in St. Louis, MO. Responsibilities: - Ensure consistency and continuity in personnel practices designed to attract and retain qualified personnel, provide development opportunities for employees at all levels, advise in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues and matters of corrective action, and assure for the fair treatment of all employees. - Provide guidance to management personnel in the areas of recruitment and selection, equal employment, training and development, employee morale and motivation, work relationships, performance management, effective communications and problem solving. - Ensure appropriate and acceptable climate of labor relations in order to achieve operating goals. This includes the overseeing of labor contract negotiations, grievance handling, thorough and objective investigations, and union and employee communications programs. - Provide generalist field support to both manufacturing and salaried employees to ensure that administrative needs are met for HR services including: benefit open enrollment, compensation cycles, safety program administration, Government requirements such as EEOC, OSHA, and Vets reporting, other regulatory compliance, safety program administration, and overall employee relations policy administration. - Collect and analyze appropriate data in order to identify any trend changes in key HR metrics including recordable incidents, time-lost recordables, attendance, turn-over, employee satisfaction, performance, productivity and headcount. - On an as needed basis, work in conjunction with the Vice President of Human Resources to develop new policies and procedures to address needs identified through analysis and investigation to correct compliance issues, improve productivity, streamline processes, reduce turnover, reduce headcount or control costs. - Manage local Performance Management Process and Salary Planning Process for the site. - Will be assigned additional tasks, projects and be given additional responsibilities as business requirements dictate, or as required by the Vice President of Human Resources. Qualifications include: Education: A four-year Bachelor`s Degree with emphasis on Human Resources, Business Administration or related field of study is required. SPHR or PHR certification is desired. A Masters degree in Human Resource or an MBA preferred. Experience: Related HR Generalist experience (5+ years minimum) within a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2 (+) years in a Management role. Specific expertise in Benefits Administration, Compensation Management, Employee Relations and Safety Programs, is strongly preferred. Exposure to both unionized and Non-unionized manufacturing environments is desired. Position Competencies: Must have strong interpersonal and excellent written and verbal communications skills. The ability to evaluate and improve upon processes and procedures, including effective utilization of technology and automation is desired. Should have strong analytical skills and have the ability to track and interpret data. Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing and ISO quality programs, and Kaizen principals, is a plus. Decision-Making: The position requires continuous and dynamic decision making throughout the course of the normal business day.
